Companies operating in multiple European countries can choose to delegate their producer responsibility to an external party. One such external party is Pronexa, which manages contracts with various European collection systems. Through an online portal, you can submit your reports centrally for all of Europe.
Pronexa is a joint venture of various European collectives, including Stichting OPEN. The company is based in Germany and serves as a one-stop shop for businesses operating in multiple European countries. On the Pronexa website, you can find all the information about the company’s activities.
A foreign producer, distributor, or webshop that places devices, lamps, and/or batteries on the Dutch market can directly join Stichting OPEN. We handle producer responsibility for all companies that introduce these products to the Dutch market for the first time. With our universally binding waste management contribution agreement, we fulfill the role of Authorized Representative. Therefore, it is not necessary for a company to appoint its own Authorized Representative, unless required by legislation in the country of establishment.
If needed, we provide a compliance statement to foreign producers, distributors, and/or webshops that comply with the obligations outlined in the waste management contribution agreement. This allows these companies to demonstrate in their own country that they meet the Dutch producer responsibility regulations.
