Collection with compensation: incentive program and details

Are you, for example, a metal recycler with a large volume of discarded devices? The incentive program may apply to you. For certain types of devices, we offer a compensation on top of the material value your company negotiates independently. Additionally, we provide a free collection service for devices that would typically incur costs for certified processing. This program encourages companies to keep discarded devices separate, intact, and deliver them to a CENELEC-certified processor.

When are you eligible for compensation?

The incentive compensation applies to discarded devices that typically have a positive material value after processing. Metal recyclers can negotiate these material values with CENELEC-certified processors. In addition to this, they receive the following incentives from us:

  • €125 on top of the material value for large and small devices, ICT devices, and cables
  • €150 on top of the material value for luminaires
  • €150 on top of the material value for built-in air conditioning units and heat pumps
  • €200 on top of the material value for central heating boilers and water heatersHow to Participate

Rates for social collection points (e.g., petting zoos)

Petting zoos have a social and educational function. Stichting OPEN supports this with an annual sponsorship of €250, which can be spent freely. Registrations during the year receive the compensation on a pro-rata basis.

Petting zoos also receive Wecycle collection bins for small discarded electrical devices, which are replaced free of charge when full. They can also request the Jekko, a practical collection box for home use that helps collect small discarded electrical devices, energy-efficient lamps, and batteries. Partner zoos can order Jekko boxes for their visitors for free via MyOPEN.
